BREAKING: Ireland and New Zealand to merge for Rugby World Cup 2019

Reports coming out of Ireland this morning that both New Zealand and Ireland have formally agreed to merge for the 2019 Rugby World cup in Japan.

It comes after New Zealand beat New Zealand in an international match this morning in Dublin. With both teams fielding a New Zealand coach and players with New Zealand passports.

The team will wear the traditional All Blacks jersey, but with a 4 leaf clover on the right hand side of the shirt. Adidas will remain the shirt sponsor.

All Black captain, Kieran Read, is excited for this opportunity – “Look if it means we’ll get a shit ton of Guinness in the sheds after our games then that’s brilliant. Although I would hate to lose out my spot but I guess that’s the price I pay”

Home games throughout the regular season will switch between Dublin and Auckland and the Auckland Blues have been the sacrificial lamb, they will make way for a Dublin based team to compete in Super rugby
