Australian and New Zealand Cricket Teams both gutted to miss Laneway – except Marcus Stoinis who was never going anyway.
The ODI in Auckland yesterday between New Zealand and Australia was all planned to be a quick match in order for the players to make it to Laneway. The fellas had their VIP tickets to Laneway in Auckland and were throwing the match as best they could.
“We just wanna get sliced and rock out to Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, man” Captain Kane Williamson told Thai Castle before the match.
The Black Caps innings went to plan and at 67/6 for the Australians, things were looking on track for an afternoon off for the team.
Then Marcus Stoinis took to the crease, and he had other ideas.
Unfortunately, Stoinis, had been watching Moana with his girlfriend and wasn’t texting back when the lads were booking the VIP Laneway tickets last week and so he missed out.
“I was enjoying the sun, and the atmosphere, and before I knew it, I’d hit a century, and dashed anyone’s hopes of Laneway”.
“At one point I tried to lob one at Kane Williamson when I was on 91, who they told me was the captain, but he dropped me. I couldn’t do it twice! Sosz to the boys aye”
