Richie McCaw Turns Down Multi-Million Dollar Deal To Coach Wallabies

All Black great Richie McCaw has left the ARU reeling after turning down a 4 year $4.2 million dollar deal to coach the Wallabies.
The 148 test veteran had been courted by the ARU for months after a string of disapointing performances from the Wallabies.
McCaw has commented on the whole situation saying “I was flattered by the offer but could never see myself coaching Australia. It just wouldn’t feel right. Plus I’m killing it at being an actor/pilot right now so don’t think I need rugby coaching at this stage”
Current Wallabies coach Michael Cheika is reportedly frustrated about the situation telling reporters “I feel like I’ve been doing a great job as a coach however I plan to do some soul searching in the outback over the next few weeks before the end of season tour.”

  1. “was flattered by the offer but could never see myself coaching Australia. It just wouldnโ€™t feel right.” Good on him for saying that…he retired from rugby to do what he’s doing now….And we remember him as The G.O.A.T .= Greatest Of All Time…he’s enjoy being an actor/pilot so they should just let him be. As for Australia loosing they need to – in the words of Elsa from Frozen “let it go” .constantly whinging about it gets them nowhere.

  4. Australian rugby players need more than the worlds best coach they need some humility and concrete. Learn to play as a team and walk the walk not just talk the talk….

  6. Good for you Ritchie! You have already given enough of your life to the RU so its time for you to enjoy what you are doing and its not about the money. Sometimes its just about what you want. Much respect to you Ritchie!
